WHO WE ARE

Reiner is from Germany, Barbara is Canadian. They met many years ago while Barbara was living in Germany. On their very first date, instead of dinner and a movie, they took their cameras and went exploring. Over the years, their mutual love for nature and photography took them to far-away places such as South Africa, Bolivia, and the Canadian Arctic. When the opportunity to buy Tamarack Lodge came up, the adventurous couple wondered out loud just how much longer city living was for them. Six months later, after a complete overhaul and renovation, they re-opened the Lodge by celebrating Barbara’s birthday there! Since then, Barbara and Reiner have continued exploring their love for nature and the great outdoors in the Haliburton Highlands and love nothing more than sharing that knowledge and those experiences with their guests.
